William was born in Bogota in 1983. His primary and secondary education was held at a Lasallian Institution. Later, in 2006, he graduated as an Industrial Engineer from Colombia’s National University, Bogota Campus, majoring in economic optimization and mastering the job-study dilemma by working as a monitor at the Computing Unit on the Economic Sciences Faculty.

As a project manager and sourcing professional, William worked for multinational companies such as Schneider Electric (Energy) and Scotiabank Colpatria (Financial), supporting it’s nearly 1,4 MUSD OPEX & CAPEX savings strategy, and acquiring experience on energy projects, supplier development, IT projects and financial management. He is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Scrum Product Owner professional certifications’ holder, among others.

As a consultant and instructor, he developed projects for Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and Public companies He co-created the Corporacion TIC initiative with his partner Juliana Cáceres and AIIEUN with other industrial engineers. 

In 2014 he obtained a Master in start-up and company management, that was put into practice as Board Member of SOF Colombia and EAN University Workers cooperative (FEEAN), and, as an angel investor, he usually holds an investment portfolio in different startups. 

As a researcher, William received a Fulbright scholarship to the Writing skills for successful scholars program held in Tompkins-Cortland Community College (TC3) and Cornell University (USA) and CEINDO-SANTANDER (Spain) grant for the Doctorate program in Law and Economics in San Pablo CEU.

As an academic, William is a visiting professor for the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (México) and Colombia’s National University. Currently, he works as the Director of Postgraduate Finance programs  and Green Finance Observatory project leader at Ean University, where he led the IIPER/Bloomberg Financial Lab accreditation processes.   

Finally, he finds writing in the third-person awkward but finds joy in helping others to achieve their goals.
